Black Minds Mag Submission Guidelines

 

Black Minds Publishing is now taking submissions for publication in our online multidisciplinary arts magazine, Black Minds Mag. This magazine provides a fresh take on the literary magazine experience by featuring short poems and visual art from Black creatives that are transformed into mini-broadsides and combined into an online monthly arts magazine.

 

We are looking for raw artistic works that center the healing process of the Black mind, body, and spirit. Work that centers the struggle of intentional healing, the process it requires, and/or the weight that’s lifted when you reach the other side.

 

Submission Fee: FREE

 

Submission Guidelines:

• Submissions are open to poets and visual artists of the Black diaspora.

• Literary submissions must be 26 lines or less (line count includes the spaces between stanzas).

• Any literary submissions should be uploaded as a .pdf file.

• Previously published works and excerpts from poems are both allowed.

• Multiple submissions are allowed. (No more than 5)

• Visual art submissions should be high quality and uploaded as a .png file or high-quality .jpg file.

 

After Submission: 

• The Black Minds Publishing team will review your submission and contact you by email to notify you of whether your work was accepted or not.

• Once you receive your acceptance email, you must verbally consent to publication within 24 hours of receiving your acceptance..

• A copy of the magazine will be sent out to all accepted artists and we will post the magazine on both our IG and on our website archive.
